A message to all FTW Supporters…

It has been a magnificent pleasure to publish a magazine that so many of you enjoyed as much as I enjoyed putting together each month. However at this time we regret to inform you as of December 1st we will be suspending our monthly magazine due to the lack of interest in advertising. It is our hope the economy will pick up and we can resume at a later time. This is a very difficult decision for Elvis and I, however without advertising it is impossible to carry on.

We would like to thank all of the advertisers that had faith in us and supported our magazine, to our subscribers and to all those that helped us with deliveries .We collectively worked very hard at making FTW great, and it is great, it is just a bad economic time at the moment. For the advertisers that had a long term agreement, we will be prorating and returning the remainder of your payment. We will be doing the same for our subscribers.

You will still find FTW-Feel the Wind on the web, www.ftwmagazine.com/. Even though we cannot produce a printed copy each month, I will still be covering events etc and will put pics etc on line. It will be geared toward events listing, bike nights etc. Free-event listing can still be posted on line for upcoming events. * There will be a minimal charge for flyers. On line advertising is available.
Please forward any questions to Silla or Elvis

Hump Day

Hi all....well my back/neck is feeling much better, I have no idea what it was, what I do know is that it is an old injury that haunts me every now and then. This discomfort I was experiencing all started Thursday after I had been to the chiropractor for a "tune up", you know the "tune up" they tell you that you need to line their pockets. Well, because I associated my pain with the visit on Thursday I was a little leery of going to the chiropractor again and surely didn't want to go through that again along with the cost of x-rays, which I know was coming!! I toughed it out but I think I will opt for a good deep massage next time. They cost the same and I enjoy it much more...it's kinda like getting more bang for your buck with a massage and I come out feeling more relaxed and less taken! Maybe I just need to find a new chiropractor, what an interesting concept.
I finally got away from my computer long enough yesterday to get some "fun" work done taking shots for the next "Homegrown" page. It sure was nice getting out, the weather was beautiful. The fall colors and the smell of season in the air was fantastic.
For those that don't know, I also do
webdesign which has been keeping me busy that past few days. It never fails, just as I get a moment to myself to take a breath, something comes up to get me back to work again, am I complaining?...hell no!
Well, back to work...email me, I would love to hear from you.

Call me a wimp!!

So sad, I am a wimp!! I just could not bring myself to saddling up today. When I woke up it was 27 degrees, by 10 AM it was a whopping 47.....OMG....that is just too cold for riding my scoot. The sun was shining, but the air temp was so fricken cold I just couldn't do it damn it. I wanted to go and take pics and hang out with everyone, but I hate being cold! To top it all off I am in excruciating pain!! Some how I hurt my back?? Looks like I will be making a trip to the chiropractor tomorrow, maybe he can bring some relief, wish me luck.
We are still looking for Wild Thang gals and good looking FTW men for the mag.....
I am sure there are a ton of Christmas parties coming up so get your black and white flyer's into FTW (minimal cost to publish b/w flyer's) so we can get them published in the mag....7000 copies will be in the hands of folks looking for a party to attend.
Anyone watch the NFL game today?.....OMG....Tennesee got there asses kicked!! Tennessee Titans 0 - New England Patriots 59. Say what you want about Tom Brady he threw six touchdown passes and the New England Patriots sent the hapless Tennessee Titans plummeting to a new low in their winless season with a 59-0 win. Five of those passes came in the second quarter, an NFL mark for one period. The six touchdown throws tied Brady's own Patriots record. And the 59-point margin matched the largest since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970, the Los Angeles Rams' 59-0 win over the Atlanta Falcons in 1976. The Patriots (4-2) gained a club-record 619 yards with Brady completing 29 of 34 passes for 380 yards.
Well I am off to get some fresh baked brownies......

A Beautiful Fall Day

The sun is out again today...wow doncha just love it!
Elvis and I are headed to the Green Lantern tonight to celebrate with Lori (owner of the Green Lantern), she is getting married today. Later we will be headed to the Stampede to take in the classic rock tunes of Nancy's Fury...they always rock the house.
Tomorrow we are headed out on a color tour brrrrrrrrrrr...sounds chili but we are gonna do it anyway. They are calling for weather in the mid 50's so that should be good. I am gonna ask Elvis to slap on the bitch seat so we can cuddle and keep warm...yes it's all about me, well sometimes. We are meeting at Parks Place Cafe in Conway at 10.....anyone interested, it should be a good time as we are headed to the UP.

A new day

We picked up the November Edition of FTW yesterday. They looked pretty good this month after we had another dark print last month. So I am pretty happy this time. I had some sleepless nights worrying about how they where gonna turn out. I should have known better after talking with Paul, the big guy in charge of printing, he assured me it wouldn't but I was still a little concerned as he is not there to oversee the print since he was transferred to the Gaylord Harold Times.
Well, Elvis and I started immediately distributing starting as always as Papa Lou's in Petoskey, they eagerly await the new print each month. We where told a new menu is in store, so keep an eye on that....sounds yummy!
From Petoskey we made our way to Conway, to Parks Place Cafe 2495 U.S. 31, Conway, MI (231) 622-8296. If you want some good home cooked meals cheap check them out. The service is quick and the owner Marie and her staff are very friendly! Onward down along 131 we stopped at The Green Lantern. To my surprise a bachelorette party for owner Lori was just getting underway, so of course, I was snaffooed from my delivery route and took them up on the party idea. What an awesome time. Of course what goes on at bachelorette parties stay at the bachelorette party so I can't give out any details. All I can say is that I can't wait for the wedding reception on Saturday.
Today we got all the subscription and bulk mailing done, so tomorrow we will be hitting the road to get the rest of the deliveries out to our advertisers and delivery locations.
Sunday we are thinking of going on a color tour....brrrrrrrrr.... sounds cold, but what the heck....

November Edition of FTW

Hey all! The sun finally showed up today....
We will be picking up the November Edition of FTW tomorrow. I am hoping that the print is not as dark as last month. I'll find out tomorrow for sure. I am excited to say we have 7000 copies printed this month as we are planning passing out 2000 copies (maybe more) at the Snowmobile Show in Novi, Michigan at the Rock Financial Showplace - November 6-8- 46100 Grand River Ave.

Believe it or not it has snowed here in Gracelandnorth a few times since the weekend. The weather has been pretty cold the past few days. Temps have been hovering around 36....brrr...a little too cold for riding a scoot, even though I did see a few of them while I was in town earlier today. Elvis just took off on his wearing his snowmobile suit...too funny.
If you can bear the cold, get out on your scoot or be like me, sit beside the corn stove, keep warm and dream you are in a warmer place.

In the beginning

I started FTW Magazine in May 2009. The 7th Edition will be out on the 16th. It has been very interesting and challenging, I love a good challenge. FTW has taken me down a few new roads, and I love every minute of it, exept maybe the ones that keep me up until 3 - 4 am trying to meet what I call my "drop dead line" for the printer. I do feel like I am gonna drop dead some days when I need to stay up to git'r done. I think so far the hardest part of publishing this rag, other than trying to find a printer that won't crank up the ink, is the distribution each month. We started with 3 thousand and in a very short (fast) 7 months we are up to 7 thousand. We definitely need to find a way of getting these rags out without sending Elvis out for 4 - 5 days dropping them off. Got any suggestions...I am definitely open to them.
I hope you enjoy FTW Magazine. There a few pretty good articles and pics, everyone enjoys pics. We have a pretty good website http://www.ftwmagazine.com/ . We are always looking for "Wild Thang Gals". In the winter they will be "Snow Angels" and of course we need some FTW men (For The Women).
As the cold weather and snow starts to take over, we will be switching our focus to sleds, however we will still be having lots of biker stuff...bikers don't die during the winter, we still have fundraisers, and parties...so there is always some good stuff to publish.
Well, that's it for now.....check in often, I will be here...drop me a line or two....
