End of Summer

Seems that mother nature is cutting us short on warm days and sunshine.  I can remember still having nice temps and sunshine well into September the evenings might get a little chily we could still take off on the bikes for a ride during the daylight hours.
Hurricane Earl sure took care of the weekend for us, black clouds, cold temps and rain.  It still didn't scare off the true bikers from riding ... "all you need is some good rain gear and your good to go" said one biker I spoke with, it brought a chill to my spine as he was saying it considering it was only 47 degrees out....mix that with rain and I say NO THANKS.  So I guess it was a great realization to me at that point - just because I have a motorcycle, have logged on many miles from coast to coast in the US...I am really not a biker at all...I am in the end just a person that likes to ride a motorcycle, hats off to the real bikers out there that will ride in any weather condition - ride safe my brothers and sisters.

Thanksgiving

There is nothing necessarily wrong with good food, family reunions and football games on Thanksgiving Day. But all too many use these activities wrongly and forget the purpose for the holiday. Many glut themselves with far more food than they ought to eat; few, however, stop to give God thanks for this food—even on Thanksgiving Day. Family reunions all too often turn out to be family brawls. Millions of others push and shove one another in large crowds at football games and parades, and kill one another on the highway as they madly strive to make sure they get their fair quota of pleasure. And where is the giving of thanks in all this? In the overwhelming vast majority of the cases, it is nowhere to be found! As we observe Thanksgiving Day this year, let us take stock and consider the sheer magnificence of our national blessings. Stop and reflect on why we have so much. Remember our rich national history, and those who fought to preserve this great land. Meditate on where America is going—and understand why it will be punished by a merciful God if its citizens refuse to repent of their evil, lawless and ungrateful ways.
Let us always give heartfelt thanks to our great Creator for the manifold blessings He has so generously bestowed upon these United States of America—and put the “thanks” back into Thanksgiving Day this year!

Thank You to our Veterans

Veterans Day means different things to different people, but we all must remember. We must never break faith with our POW/MIAs and we must all thank our veterans, both those currently serving and those who have served in the past. We must never forget. We must remember that we owe them and their families our liberty, our thanks and our love.  God Bless our Veterans and our Troops.

Needed Therapy

Now I know what I have been missing for the past few months!!  A good ride on my scoot.  The weather has been in the upper 50's so I decided to take some of my own advise...layer up and get out and FTW!!  So, I did just that.  I put on a few layers and headed out, and man did I need that, it was just like therapy.  It has left me feeling like I need more....you know how that feels don't you?
The 1st Annual Gary Slawter Lingerie Show & Party held at the Keg Bar in Waters looked to me to be a great success.  The place was packed, the food was great and so was the band.  Lots of good laughs as the girls from Region 4 ABATE put on a smashing lingerie show!!  It was great fun.  I posted some pics on the FTW magazine website. Visit:

The Keg Bar and Grille in Waters is home of a 9-ball tournament November 28, 29th.
They are looking for more players, so if you are interested call 989 942-7477 and/or visit FTW Magazine website for more info:
